From the halls of 91抖阴 International School and Colleges (SISC) to the frontlines of education, Joratio 淭ats� Nuyda is a true homegrown Monarch. Having journeyed through Southville檚 K�12 program, completed his college education, and earned his Teaching Certificate Program (TCP), Tats now teaches with the same fervor he once brought as a student.
淚 wouldn檛 trust any school to train me but Southville,� Tats shares with conviction. And for good reason攈is roots run deep, his growth intentional. What he enjoyed most in TCP were the rich dialogues with fellow educators and the practical exchange of best teaching practices. 淧icking their brains and sharing experiences shaped my approach in the classroom,� he says.
Designed for non-education degree holders, Southville檚 TCP is fulfilled over two semesters, providing a strong foundation for aspiring educators. More than academic theory, the program emphasizes reflective practice, hands-on learning, and the formation of one檚 teaching identity. For Tats, this educational philosophy turned training into transformation.
His dedication was tested early on: after teaching seven straight hours, he sprinted to the college building for a mock Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). 淚t was chaotic,� Tats laughs, 渂ut it prepared me for the real thing.� The mock exams and immersion experiences are part of how Southville prepares TCP graduates for the rigors of professional teaching.
Now a part-time IB Economics and Business faculty at SISC, Tats embodies Southville檚 commitment to excellence and educator empowerment. The impact, he says, has been profound. 淪outhville showed me I truly love teaching. I檒l do it as long as I have the energy.�
